Sunday 3rd October: CUTTHROAT BRIDGE – MOSCAR HOUSE – STRINES EDGE –  FOULSTONE ROAD – DERWENT EDGE – CUTTHROAT BRIDGE

8 miles – Start at 10.30am at the car park by Cutthroat Bridge on the A57 east of Ladybower reservoir – Grid Ref. SK 215 875 – Bring a packed lunch – Walk Leader Paul M.

NOTE: This is a shorter version of the walk planned for 19th September.

Wednesday 6th October : Straws Bridge – Mapperley Reservoir – Shipley Park – Nutbrook Trail (Additional Walk)

Approx. 7.5 miles – Start at 10.30am from the free car park at Straws Bridge Nature Reserve, Ilkeston – Grid ref: SK 452 413 – Post code: DE7 5FG – Directions: On the A609 1 mile west of Ilkeston town centre – Car park is on the north side of the road – Entrance is near to the pelican crossing – Picnic lunch – Drinks, snacks and toilets available at Shipley Park visitor centre halfway round the walk – Walk leader John.

NOTE: Walk confirmed as going ahead – Leader is aware of path closures due to work on the dam at Shipley Lake.

Sunday 10th October : Bramcote Hills Park – Cossall – Strelley – Trowell Moor 

Approximately 8 miles – Start at 10:30am from Bramcote Hills Park Car Park – Grid Ref. SK 501 384 – Post Code NG9 3JT – Small charge payable – Directions: From Nottingham travel on Derby Road to the Bramcote roundabout next to Bramcote baths – Turn right at the roundabout onto the A6007 Ilkeston Road – From Derby travel on the A52 to the Bramcote roundabout and turn second left onto the A6007 – The car park is on the right after about 400 metres, just before a mini roundabout – Picnic lunch – We will go to the Mulberry Tree café in Strelley for a drink in the afternoon – Walk leader Peter.

Sunday 17th October : Hope – Lose Hill – Mam Tor – Castleton

9.5 miles approx. – Start at 10:00am from the main car park in Hope – Grid ref: SK 171 835 – Bring a packed lunch – Walk leader Jerry.

Note: There are road closures in Chesterfield for a marathon from 8am to midday. Jerry suggests that, if you normally travel via Chesterfield, you either avoid it, or leave plenty of time to reach the start of the walk.

Tuesday 19th October : Higham – Wessington (Footloose Extra)

6 miles approx. – Start at 11:00am from Main Road in Higham, Derbyshire – Grid ref:  SK 390 591 – Directions: Main Road is the B6013, just south of the junction with A61 – Park on the road – Picnic lunch – Walk leader June.

Sunday 24th October : Ramsley Reservoir – Big Moor – Lady’s Cross – Swine Sty

8 miles approx. mainly on moorland tracks – Start at 10:30am from Fox Lane next to Ramsley Reservoir, near Baslow – Grid Ref. SK 288 746 – Directions: Fox Lane branches east off the A621, 2 miles NE of Baslow -Limited roadside parking here, but you can also park in Shillito Wood car park, half a mile up the road – Picnic lunch – Walk leader John.

Saturday 30th October : Sheldon – Ashford in the Water – Monsal Head -Deepdale (Followed by Footloose AGM and meal)

9 miles, with shorter 5 mile option – Start at 11:00am from the Cock and Pullet pub at Sheldon Grid Ref. SK 175 687 – Post code DE45 1QS – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Jean.

The walk can be shortened by meeting the group at Sheepwash bridge in Ashford in the Water around 11:45 to 12, walking from there up to Monsal Head for a lunch stop – Then walking down the dale with the group, but cutting back to Ashford instead of walking uphill to Sheldon at the end – Brian will lead this alternative.

This walk will be followed by a meal at the Cock and Pullet pub at 5pm – Prior to that we are holding the Footloose AGM at the pub, starting about 4pm in a side room
