Sunday 3rd September: Oxton – Halam – Epperstone
12 miles – Start at 10:30am from opposite the church in Oxton – Grid ref. SK 630 513 – The church is on the main street – There is plenty of street parking – Alternatively, there is a large car park at the Village Hall, a little north from the church.
A picnic walk but with a coffee machine and cakes if required – There will be a pub stop about 2/3rds of the way around at Epperstone – Walk leader Ashley.
Sunday 10th September: Social Walk from YHA Ilam Hall
In the absence of a Footlose walk leader for this date, Louise has signed up for a social walk from Ilam Hall, which is part of the YHA’s Festival of Walking and invites members to join her. Led by a National Trust volunteer, the walk is free (donations requested) but you do need to sign up in advance. Free cuppa and cake at the end! Details here.
Sunday 17th September: Ogston Reservoir – Milltown – Ashover – Farhill – Handley
8 miles – Start at 10.30am from the free car park at Ogston reservoir, on the B6014 between Stretton and Tansley – Picnic lunch – Drink at an Ashover pub – Walk leaders John F. & Sally.
Tuesday 19th September: West Leake – Gotham – Gotham Hill (Footloose Extra)
8 miles – Start at 10:30am from West Leake church – Grid ref. SK 527 264 – Parking anywhere on the road through the villiage – Picnic lunch – Watch out for Batman! – Walk leader Ashley.
Sunday 24th September: Park House Farm – Cuckney – Robin Hood Way – Gleadthorpe Plantation
8.2 miles – Start at 10:30am from the car park by the war memorial in Church Warsop on the A60 – Grid ref. SK 568 687 – On the left when approaching from the south and approx. 100yds before the easy-to-spot church – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Jim.
