Friday 9th September: Holloway Soup, Pudding & Cuppa

A 5½ mile walk with lunch at Holloway Methodist Church – Two courses of soup and a pudding, with tea or coffee for £5 – All proceeds go to charity, which, on this day is wildlife conservation in Costa Rica, chosen by Jackie, who will be serving on the day – Start at 11:15am from Cromford Railway Station – Post code: DE4 5JJ – Grid ref: SK 302 574 – Off-peak parking £1.50, or arrive by train at 11:03 – Note that the Cromford to Lea Bridge road is still closed – Walk leader John.

Sunday 18th September: Creswell Crags – Belph – South Lodge – Robin Hood Way

Approx. 8.5 miles – Start at 10:30am from the visitor centre car park at Creswell Crags – Pay and display £6 all day – Grid ref. SK 539744 – Post code: S80 3LH – The centre is well signposted off the B6042 which runs between the A60 and the A616 – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Jim.

Tuesday 20th September: Blidworth Area (Footloose Extra)

A circular walk around Blidworth taking in the Druid Stones which are the remains from the glacial age.  In the past, children were passed through the hole in the stones to cure them of whooping cough! – The walk is 6 miles of undulating fields and forest – Start at 10:30am from Ricket Lane, near the Robin Hood Scout Centre – Grid ref. SK 565561 – Directions: Ricket Lane is off the A60 Mansfield Road, just north of Larch Farm traffic lights in Ravenshead – Park on grass verge – Picnic lunch, plus café at Portland College, if open, near to end of walk – Walk leader Julia.
