Winter walks may be cancelled due to bad weather – snow, ice, heavy rain, fog etc. In the event of such weather, please look out for updates both here and on What’s App, or contact the walk leader before setting out.
Sunday 6th November: Moira Furnace – Hicks Lodge – Oakthorpe – Donisthorpe (National Forest and Ashby Canal)
An 8.5 mile walk, through the National Forest of SE Derbyshire & NW Leicestershire with relics of its industrial past – Start at 10:30am from the free car park at Moira Furnace – Grid ref. SK 313 151 – W3W: ///prospered.survived.congested – Directions: Signposted from the Moira to Overseal Road – Use the second car park on the right off the access road, Furnace Lane, where it turns left – CafĂ© at Moira Furnace open from 10am – Toilets at Hicks Lodge – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Louise.



Saturday 12th November: Longstone Edge – Longstone Moor – Cressbrook Dale
Three at sixty walk – 8.5 miles – Walk and meal to celebrate Paul W, Nick and Helen’s 60th birthdays – Start at 10.30am outside the Crispin Inn, Great Longstone – Park in village streets, not in the pub car park, which has limited parking needed for lunchtime visitors – Picnic lunch – Option to shorten the walk to 5 miles if preferred – Walk leader Paul W.
Meal afterwards at 4.30pm in the Crispin to celebrate the three birthdays – Menu available here.
Tuesday 15th November: Crich – Lea – Dethick – Holloway (Footloose Extra)
Approx. 7 miles – Start at 10.30am from Crich Baptist church in the Market Place – Parking in or near the centre of the village – Please note: The road from Bullbridge, ‘The Common’, is closed for roadworks on this date, so you will not be able to access the village centre directly from the A610 – Picnic lunch – Tea afterwards at the Family Tree, Whatstandwell – Walk leader Jo.
Sunday 20th November: Longshaw – Grouse Inn – Grindleford – Hathersage Booths – Mellor Design Museum – Padley Gorge
Approx 10 miles – Start at 10am from the National Trust’s Longshaw car park off the A6187 – Grid Ref. SK 267 800 – For non-NT members there is free parking on the road near the Fox House pub – Picnic lunch, but will stop at the design museum for tea/coffee and toilets – Walk leader Judy.
Please note that the A625 is closed between Main Road at Calver and Moorlands Lane at Froggatt.


Sunday 27th November: Oxton – Calverton – Ramsdale Park – Watchwood Plantation – Gorse Covert
8.6 miles – Start at 10:15am from Main Street in Oxton, by the church – Grid ref. SK 630 514 – Post code: NG25 0TF – Park on the road, or the nearby Village Hall car park – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Jim.
