Winter walks may be cancelled due to bad weather – snow, ice, heavy rain, fog etc. In the event of such weather, please look out for updates both here and on What’s App, or contact the walk leader before setting out.
Sunday 4th December: Eyam – Leadmill – River Derwent – Eyam
8.5 to 9 miles – Start at 10:15am from the free car park on Hawkhill Road in Eyam – Behind the pay and display car park, opposite the Museum – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Jean R.
SATURDAY 10th December: Old Dam – Windy Knoll – Mam Farm – Castleton – Old Moor
Approx. 9 miles – Start at 10:30am from the Old Dam area of Peak Forest – Grid ref. SK 115 797 – Post code: SK17 8EN – W3W: ///scavenger.flesh.dragonfly – Park on the road – Lunch at cafés or pubs in Castleton – Walk leader John.
SATURDAY 17th December: Calver – Rowland – Longstone Moor – Coombes Dale (Christmas Meal)
8.4 miles – Start at 11am from opposite the Derwentwater Arms, Sough Lane, Calver – Post code: S32 3XQ – Grid ref. SK 240 746 – Please park on the road, not in the pub car park – Walk leader Vaughan.
There is a shorter, 6 mile, option for those unable to complete the full walk – For this, meet the main group at 12 midday at the footpath on the bend on Longreave Lane, Rowland – Grid ref. SK 213 725 – W3W \\\factory.height.soft – We all then finish the rest of the walk together – You will need to arrange transport to the meeting point, either before the walk or after the meal.
Walk followed at 4pm by a Christmas Meal in the Derwentwater Arms in Calver – Organiser Sue R.
Tuesday 20th December: Calverton Area (Footloose Extra)
6 miles with 3 mile option – Start at 10.30am from Gravelly Hollow, Calverton – Park at Wichwood car park – Grid ref. SK 591 504 – On the no through road off the B6386 near Patchings Farm – Picnic lunch – Tea & cake after the walk at No. 18 Coffee & Eatery in Calverton – For anyone wanting to only walk 3 miles there is an easy cut off point back to the beginning – Walk leader Kath R.
Christmas Eve Saturday 24th December: Duffield – Holbrook – Makeney – Milford (Plus Festive Drinks and Cakes)
