Winter walks may be cancelled due to bad weather – snow, ice, heavy rain, fog etc. In the event of such weather, please look out for updates both here and on WhatsApp, or contact the walk leader before setting out.
Sunday 2nd November: Risley – Ockbrook – Hopwell Hall

Sunday 9th November: Wetton – Thors Cave – Grindon – Wetton Mill – Back of Ecton
8 miles (400m ascent) – Start at 10:15am from the car park with toilets (toilets open from 10am) at Wetton – Grid ref. SK 109 552 – Post code: DE6 2AF – W3W: ///presented.towers.mondays – Picnic lunch, then toilets soon after at Wetton Mill (but we will not stop there for drinks) – At the finish in Wetton there is a very good café (opened by local couple earlier this year) and excellent pub – Walk leader Paul G.
Car park is ridiculously busy even at 10am and you may want to double park or find a spot somewhere in the village without a ‘no parking’ notice – Note that the approach roads can be slow and narrow – You are advised to plan your route ahead and decide the best one.
Sunday 16th November: Winster – Whitelow Farm – Slaley – Bonsall – Limestone Way – Luntor Rocks
8.5 miles – Start at 10:15am from the small car park on Wensley Road, Winster near the C of E primary school on the B5057 – Grid Ref. Tuesday 18th November: Crich – Lea – Dethick – Holloway (Footloose Extra)
7 miles – Meet by bus stop in the Market Place, Crich at 10:15am – Grid ref. SK 348 543 postcode DE4 5DD – W3W: ///darker.clean.lollipop – Parking around Market Place/Coasthill or Dowie Way/Hodder Close (Jo & Paul’s house) if you can’t find anywhere else – Picnic lunch – Tea afterwards, either at The Loaf in Crich or The Family Tree at Whatstandwell – Walk leader Jo.
Sunday 23rd November: Cromford – Black Rocks Circular
9 miles approx. – Start at 10:15am from outside St Mary’s Church, Mill Road, Cromford – Grid Ref SK 299 571 – Postcode DE4 3RQ – W3W: ///emblem.elevator.wimp – Choice of car parks (pay & display) – Picnic lunch, but may be possibility of light refreshments en route – Walk leaders Kathy & Ian.
Sunday 30th November: Birchover – Nine Ladies – Congreave – Rowsley – Stanton Moor Edge – Upper Town
Approx. 9 miles – Start at 10:30am from the free car park at Birchover Quarry – Grid ref. SK 241 625 – W3W: ///financial.rentals.witless – Car park is on the road to Stanton in Peak, opposite Birchover Stone Ltd – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Louise.
Note that Lees Road from Stanton Lees to Birchover is closed, so the best route is from the B5056 – Take the Birchover turning, follow the road uphill, through the village and out the other side – Go round the left hand bend at the t junction and the car park is on the left, just before the factory on the right.
