Walks – March 2023

Prospective new members are welcome on our walks , but we ask that you contact us beforehand and take a look at our frequently asked questions page.

Winter walks may be cancelled due to bad weather – snow, ice, heavy rain, fog etc. In the event of such weather, please look out for updates both here and on What’s App, or contact the walk leader before setting out.

Sunday 5th March: Baslow – Bramley Lane – Black Harry Gate – Calver

Approx. 9 miles – Start at 10:15am from outside the village shop & post office at the junction of School Lane & Over Lane in Baslow – Grid ref. SK 256 725 – W3W: ///upward.provide.lunching – On road parking available – This walk involves walking on a few quiet lanes – Note that we are not walking down Coombes Dale – Picnic lunch – Drinks stop in Calver about 1.5 miles from the end – Walk leader Jean R.

Sunday 12th March: Hay Wood – White Moor Edge – Ramsley Moor – Eglestone Flat – Curbar Edge – Froggatt Edge

Walk cancelled due to snow

10 miles – Start at 10am from Hay Wood National Trust car park – Grid ref. Note the A625 is closed at Froggat, between Calver and Hay Wood until May. You will need to approach from the NE – the B6054 junction next to the Longshaw Eastate.

Sunday 19th March: Cromford – Bonsall – Matlock – Riber – Cromford Canal

10 miles – Start at 10:30am from outside St. Mary’s Church, Mill Road, Cromford – Grid ref. SK 299 571 – Post code: DE4 3RQ – Pay and display parking nearby (railway station is the cheapest) – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Mave.

Tuesday 21st March: Wirksworth – Millers Green – Hopton – National Stone Centre (Footloose Extra)

7 miles – Start at 10:30am from Wirksworth Railway Station, Coldwell Street – We have permission to park there – Grid ref: SK 290 541 – Post code: DE4 4FB – W3W: ///safest.airstrip.worker – Picnic lunch – Tea/Coffee shop in Wirksworth after the walk – Walk leader Louise.

Sunday 26th March: Darley Bridge – Oaker – Limestone Way – Winster

Approx 9 miles – Great views across the Peak District from the Limestone Way – Start at 10.15am from the free car park on the B5057 at Darley Bridge – Grid ref. SK 270 624 – W3W: ///remarked.tripling.changing – If there are no spaces left, there are a couple of nearby side roads nearby in Darley Dale, with plenty of space – Picnic lunch – Walk leader Paul W.
