Winter walks may be cancelled due to bad weather – snow, ice, heavy rain, fog etc. In the event of such weather, please look out for updates both here and on WhatsApp, or contact the walk leader before setting out.
Sunday 4th January: Strelley Hall – Cossall – Oldmoor Wood

Sunday 11th January: Calver – Coombes dale – Eyam
Walk postponed until 7th February due to snow.
9 miles – Start at 10am outside Café 19 @ White’s at Calver Crossroads, Calver Sough – Note early start time to catch the daylight – SK 239 748 – S32 3XH – ///foster.undercuts.beyond – Park on Sough Lane near the now closed Derwentwater Arms pub – Café stop in Eyam at lunchtime, but bring a packed lunch as it could be busy – Walk leader Jean R.
Sunday 18th January: Calton – Throwley Hall – Beeston Tor – Wetton – Manifold Trail – Old Soles Wood
Walk cancelled due to illness.
About 9.5 miles and just over 1400 feet ascent/descent, including one fairly sharp ascent after Beeston Tor – Start at 10:15am from outside St Mary’s Memorial Hall in Calton, west of Ashbourne – ST10 3JX – SK 103 501 – ///draw.caring.cringes – Parking is available at the Memorial Hall unless a “Function Today No Parking” board is displayed – Alternatively, park considerately on the road – Lunch either at the Royal Oak pub or tea shop in Wetton – Benches available outside nearby if you prefer your own food – Some excellent views if weather is good – Walk leader Richard.
Tuesday 20th January: Bestwood Lodge – Alexander Lodge – Killarney Park – Mill Lakes – Winding House – (Footloose Extra)
7.5miles – Start at 10:30am from the free car park at Bestwood Lodge Country Park (Do not park in Bestwood Lodge Hotel’s car park) – SK 572 464 – NG5 8HT – ///Amber.Ocean.Guides – Picnic lunch – Bestwood Lodge Hotel is open to all for toilets, coffee or a beer – Walk leader Steve C.
Sunday 25th January: Bonsall – Middleton – Middleton Moor – Middleton Top – Cromford
8.5 hilly miles – Start at 10am from the car park on Clatterway in Bonsall (voluntary donations £2) – SK 281 579 – DE4 2AH – ///fanfare.sectors.aunts – Picnic lunch – Tea/coffee available at Middleton Top visitor centre, if it’s open – Walk leader Mary.
